The Red Wing Shoes Iron Ranger 8000 Oro-legacy is a classic Red Wing Shoes 6-inch Round work shoe and is made in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Red Wing Shoes Iron Ranger style is inspired by the Mesabi Iron Range in Northern Minnesota, a rugged area known for its iron mines. The proud men working in these lines where referred to as ‘Iron Rangers’, emphasising their adventurous mentality. The Red Wing Iron Ranger is easily recognised by its double leather toecap to provide an extra measure of safety. On top of that the Red Wing Iron Ranger has extra heel protection for better support. The Red Wing Shoes 8000 is made with Oro-legacy leather which has a beautiful look. The Oro-Legacy leather is based on the leather from the Irish Setter boots from the 1970s. The Red Wing Oro-Legacy leather ages beautifully and shows great craftsmanship. The Red Wing 8000 Iron Ranger has a an unbreakable Vibram 430 lug outsole and comes with yellow/tan round taslan laces.

OIL-TANNED LEATHER

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for Oil-Tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-Tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 110+ year history.

ROUGHOUT LEATHER

Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at our very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, we simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, we avoid splitting or thinning our full-grain hides. This makes our Roughout leather just as strong and durable as our other leathers.
